The below information is from Steve Lopez, the Undergraduate Lab Supervisor for the Electrical Engineering department and also the EE/CSE Makerspace (NH 241) Manager.

Preface: “This is what I send any student group that’s working on projects in one of the design classes that is planning to use the 3d printers.  By no means is it an exhaustive list, but they are some really decent resources to use when trying to get your head in the mindset of designing with the intent to 3d print.  Hope you find it useful!!”

I love the last one especially – it’s a great reference for reducing print time and increasing success rates when incorporating more advanced techniques.

There’s also a playlist by slant 3d that has some great insights into designing with FDM printing in mind:

Additionally, all of these channels do videos about material science with respect to filament types, along with a lot of other really interesting and useful information about 3d printing in general.  Probably my favorite channels on the scientific side of 3d printing stuff.  There are a couple other channels that go more into applied uses and crazy applications, but they’re really more entertainment than education.
